Youth Art Competition 2017 – Sunday 2nd April

Theme: Environment

Exhibition Venue: Telegraph Hill Centre

Date: Sunday 2nd April 12pm – 6pm

Young people 4-16 years old of all abilities are invited to submit a 2d artwork for this competition, now in its third year. The theme this year is ‘Environment’.

The theme can be interpreted in any way the artist chooses. There will be prizes for each age category (4-8, 9-12 and 13-16) including art materials and a masterclass with a local artist!

  • Voting is in the hands of the visiting public and winners will be announced at the end of the day. All artwork must have a supportive card or cardboard backing and be no larger than A2

  • There will be a box for submission at the Telegraph Hill Centre 14 – 28 March

Competition Rules & How to Enter:

1. The Art competition is exclusively for children aged 4-16 years

2. Work submitted will be divided into four categories by age group

3. 2D works may be submitted – Preferable size A4-A3

4. The work must be an original, unaided piece of art by the entrant, it should not be a collaborative piece

5. The theme ‘Environment’ is broad; it can include any aspect of the environment in the child’s life, including the people, buildings and animals that inhabit the place the child lives

6. Work must be submitted between the dates of 14 and 28 March at The Telegraph

Hill Centre.

Please include on the back, the child’s name and age and mark it ‘YOUTH ART COMPETITION’

7. Work can be submitted unframed if attached to a cardboard backing to help us hang the work

8. Judging – Visitors to the show will be invited to vote for their favourite works in each age category

9. Winners will be announced at the event on Sunday 2 April

Work must be collected either immediately after the event or within 7 days from the Telegraph Hill Centre office
